Microwave displays 'close door' message or won't start? The door interlock switch is likely failed. Moderate DIY repair—replace all 3 switches together.
After checking other reviews, we decided it was best to replace the interlocks, cam and all three switches. You're going to need a phillips screwdriver, star driver, small screwdriver and needle nose pliers. You need to remove the ONE Phillips screw above the control panel inside the vent. The contol panel is on hinges that you can slide up and towards you. Using caution remove the wires noting how they're connected. Pinch the top of the white connectors and wiggle them free. Microwave has no power or won't heat? A blown thermal fuse is often the cause. This safety part protects against overheating. DIY repair in 30 minutes.
It is difficult (if not impossible) to remove the electronic switches from the hard plastic latches. I replaced all three switches and both the upper and lower latches I also replaced the main 20 amp ceramic fuse which blew out when the latch/switches failed. Read more

Very easy fix. Unplugged microwave, then lowered bottom panel, removed the two leads to the turntable motor, removed two screws attached to motor, removed old motor, put new spacer on motor stem, installed motor with same two screws, reattached the two wires, reattached panel ( after cleaning all the grease that built up over the last 6 years), plugged microwave in and good as new! I'm a 56 year old divorced woman. I started doing these kinds of repairs to save some money and honestly, to see if I could. So yes, if I can do it, it's not that tough to do. Bought a new home with microwave venting into kitchen. Ordered damper assembly needed to vent through the wall to the outside. Replaced numerous items including this Inverter and two control boards but the Magnetron was the ultimate solution. The tip was clearly burned through when I removed the original. Read more

Replaced lower door interlock bracket, cam(which was redesigned), spring(I believe this was the problem) and switch. When the door opens the spring moves the cam which releases the switch"on" Button which turns on the interior light when you close the door, the latch which protrudes out from door pushes into the cam which rotates to turn off the light switch and enables operation of the microwave. Gray plastic turntable drive coupler for microwaves, about 3 inches in diameter. Replaces broken, melted, or missing couplers that rotate the glass plate.
1) Used tweezers to pick broken plastic fragments out of the hole that contains the metal shaft that mates with the plastic sprocket. 2) Dropped the new plastic sprocket onto the metal shaft, then fit the turntable over it.
