How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6230882 / W11101059 Washer Lid Assembly

I watched the video on the website then used the star type screwdriver to remove the 4 screws. I also replaced the white plastic bearings on both sides. The unit looks brand new and the lid now stays in place when it is open. Thanks APP.com! 

Replaced the Lid Assembly on my washing machine. 

Order lid and took about 30-45 minutes to remove and replace washer lid. All good. 

Replaced lid 

I bought a new lid. Didn't know the assembly didn't include the actual metal hinges, but I did have them from the broken one. The first lid sent had a broken chunk in the top bezel - I could have replaced it with the one from the broken lid, but they had glued it all in place. I contacted and they sent out the new one the next day. 

I used the model number and searched online for an affordable lid replacement. I found several 'pricey' lids before I discovered AppliancePartsPros. I ordered the part at a great price and low shipping cost. I received the part by the next day! I watched the videos to show me how to replace the lid, and got the job done. I am not accustomed to such simple remedies. 

Very easy fix. Removed the assembly screws. Slid the old lid off. Slid the new lid on. Screwed it in. That’s all it took. 

Opened the lid and removed the 4screws on the bottom of the lid on the sides,then pulled straight up to remove.ordered a new one and installed it in reverse order and reinstalled the torc headed screws with a small allen wrench . 

I removed the old lid and placed the new one on.
