How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013630 / WP912653 Door Spring Link

I purchased the part from Appliance Parts Pros and watched to video. The parts were shipped promptly and I completed the repair by the end of the week. I also purchased the door gasket as the appliance was leaking on the same side the link broke. The gasket fit, but it was thicker than the OEM part and I was unable to adjust the door in order to close properly. May have been leaking because the link was broke, not sure. Will call them on Monday to see if I missed something in the video for that too. Very easy repairs after watching the videos and getting the parts swiftly. Appliance Parts Pros are #1 in my book. 

Ordered new springs and plastic attachment pieces. 

Replaced both sides 

Thanks to the excellent info on this site, I realized before I order new springs that it may be the spring link that was broken, and indeed, the spring was fine, just the link broken. The video that showed how to fix the problem was excellent and normally the repair should have been done in less than 30 min but I managed to drop one of the screws into the dishwasher which required another 30 min. of work to take drain covers off to retrieve the screw. I would recommend you be careful when taking out the screws from the counter top to prevent them from falling into the dishwasher. 

Order two new springs hooks. took the botton off the dish washer under the door took the two screws out at the top of the door pulled the dishwasher out 8-10 inches there is your spring hooked the spring back up pushed the dishwasher back put screws in top to hold the washer in place,
