How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007247 / WP2315539 Evaporator Motor

Not wanting to put too much money into an old refrigerator, I turned to the Internet to determine if I could fix it. Your website provided great information and I checked my evaporator fan and found it not working. I was able to get it to turn on by pushing the blades. I then ordered a replacement fan that arrived in less than two days! After reviewing the videos, replacing the fan was like I have already have done it before. It took as long to take everything out of the freezer than it took to replace the fan. However, the evaporator fan kept running all day. After opening and checking the temp too many times, I gave up and went to bed. When I checked it at 7 AM the next morning, the fan was off and at proper temperature. Yes, it takes time for the refrigerator to cool. Thanks to your site, I did not go out and buy a new refrigerator! 

I read some diagnostic suggestions provided by Appliance Parts Pros and determined fan needed replacing. I got the fan in two days! I used regular shipping and APP delivered on time. My story is that I live in the country and no one returned my calls for repair - so I figured I could get this done. I watched the online video on APP website. Opened up back of freezer after removing ice making and cleaning up ice buildup, I installed the new fan motor. It was easy and my fridge is now cooling perfectly. This is the best customer service org I've encountered for this sort of thing. I've repaired a dryer and washer using them. 

We replaced the broken fan unit with the fan we ordered from Appliance Parts Pros.The cover over the fan had to have some adjustments made as the fan was hitting it, which is what we figured broke the other one. Took everything out and transferred it to coolers etc. Unscrewed and took freezer unit apart ..Evaporator fan not working and made decision to replace motor and bi metal defrost thermostat. Order parts from Appliance Pros. com and the unit was put back together and so far it corrected the problem. The instructions and service were outstanding. Great Company. 

Replaced defective freezer fan. It was a very easy job & it now works great. Shut power & carefully defrosted all ice build up behind freezer wall on metal fins with hair dryer & towels & cleared all ice from vents to refrigerator. Nicely dried & cleaned everything. Tested freezer drain hole with very hot water to maker sure it was not clogged & backing up. Installed new fan with the original plastic blade, rubber backing & also replaced the broken air vents. 

Less than a month before the local repairman came out and changed the motor-evap, and just knowing what he did to fix it, I figured I could save myself a hundred or so and changed it myself. It works just like a new one. However if it lasts no longer than the last one, we'll probably be in the market for a new refrigerator, Thanks APP 

I ordered a new evaporator fan from these guys. They were the only folks I found that had the exact replacement part. I had the part within a few days and it worked great. For less than $55 I fixed my fridge instead of buying a new one or an expensive visit by a repairman. 

My fridge has been too warm for about 2-3 weeks. I reached out to my building manager and 311 but assistance was going to take too long and my food was spoiling every other day. Thanks to the videos on this website I was able to repair the fridge myself with ease. I’m never waiting on anyone else to fix stuff for me. My fiancée was proud of me and we now have a nice cool fridge 

Replaced the Evap fan motor. The fridge is working good as new one.. 

At first, I thought that it was the defrost timer, but when I took apart the freezer, I found that the evaporator fan motor wasn't running, so I replaced it.
