Jerald M Danielsville , GA October 22, 2016 Appliance: Model 106.74202402 KENMORE ELITE Refridgerator not cold enough freezer fan not working supplying cold air to refridgerator but freezer was working but not as cold as it should be compressor was working Top mounted freezer with bottom refrigerator. Kenmore Elite Shut off the power Remove all food stuff from freezer (placed in ice chest) then shelves. Removed the ice maker, (easy!) 3 screws and unplugged wires. 2 screws in the back panel. Pulled top forward - downward Unplugged wiring harness from back wall of freezer, removed ground wire from panel Pulled fan blade off. (Fan was attached to back wall, not removable back panel) Removed 2 screws to get to fan motor. 'Unsnapped ' motor bracket, on bottom. Unplugged motor and then ground wire. Cleaned up back panel and even painted some corroded areas on the back panel (with it removed and outside) mostly on the bottom. Took a hair dryer and some paper towels an defrosted dried the coils and made sure the drain line was clear. Installed the motor (reversing the above process, plugging the wiring harness back in wall) but after attaching it to the wall turned the power back on to see if the fan would run before installing the panel. (IT DID!!!) Then turned the power back off. Completed the reinstallation of the panel, icemaker and shelves. All the above in less than an hour. Turned power back on. Shut the doors for about another hour to see if refrigerator would get cool. Checked with the thermometer. Freezer was about 7 and the refrigerator was about 35 degrees. Filled the freezer back up with food. Note I did not remove the food from the refrigerator; I bought dry ice and some ice to keep the food cool. The refrigerator compartment was only about 55 degrees when I found out the fan was not working. Normally you can hear the fan running with the refrigerator door closed but it turns off when you open the door Sears wanted about $85 for the part but it was not in stock and couldn't get it for a week. Just a service call was $99. Got it here and spent $12 for 2 day shipping for $75. Installed it myself . Check out this install video from here and go to YouTube also if needed. Appliance Parts Pros saved me a lot of time & $$$ !!! And as Gomer Pyle would say..." Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!" Dale P Silver Spring , MD June 29, 2015 Refrigerator too warm freezer at normal temperature Not wanting to put too much money into an old refrigerator, I turned to the Internet to determine if I could fix it. Your website provided great information and I checked my evaporator fan and found it not working. I was able to get it to turn on by pushing the blades. I then ordered a replacement fan that arrived in less than two days! After reviewing the videos, replacing the fan was like I have already have done it before. It took as long to take everything out of the freezer than it took to replace the fan. However, the evaporator fan kept running all day. After opening and checking the temp too many times, I gave up and went to bed. When I checked it at 7 AM the next morning, the fan was off and at proper temperature. Yes, it takes time for the refrigerator to cool. Thanks to your site, I did not go out and buy a new refrigerator! Pamela P Morongo Valley , CA November 18, 2015 Appliance: Model WRT1L1W01 Evaporative cooler fan needed replacement I read some diagnostic suggestions provided by Appliance Parts Pros and determined fan needed replacing. I got the fan in two days! I used regular shipping and APP delivered on time. My story is that I live in the country and no one returned my calls for repair - so I figured I could get this done. I watched the online video on APP website. Opened up back of freezer after removing ice making and cleaning up ice buildup, I installed the new fan motor. It was easy and my fridge is now cooling perfectly. This is the best customer service org I've encountered for this sort of thing. I've repaired a dryer and washer using them. Teresa M Gardner , CO April 17, 2014 Appliance: Model WHIXEMFWOOO The fan in the freezer of our refrigerator broke We replaced the broken fan unit with the fan we ordered from Appliance Parts Pros. The cover over the fan had to have some adjustments made as the fan was hitting it, which is what we figured broke the other one. We are now careful to not allow items to push against the cover over fan area. We are happy with the fan we ordered from your company and we would recommend Appliance Parts Pro to others. Also, thank you for sending the part quickly and for packing it carefully.
