How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5183444 / W10401225 Door Glass

I watched a video on AppliancePartsPros.com and decided that I could fix the oven. I removed the oven door and dismantled it. By then my wife was upset because of the mess I had made. I ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com and cleaned up the mess. Within a few days, the replacement part arrives. I watched the video once again and put the oven door back together again. Once installed my wife was delighted as the oven was fixed and it was cleaner than when I started. 

Replaced with a new door front. 

I purchased the new glass and SS trim. A service tech quoted me $800.00 to replace it. I did it myself for the cost of the parts and saved $400.00 

Remove broken glass and installed new glass. 

Replaced the old glass/panel with a new one. 

Found part and video on line on how to replace the panel. Looked very easy. Ordered part, came in 1.5 days. Did the replacement in 30 minutes following the video. Saved cost of a repairman. 

Took door off hinges. Removed exterior glass/stainless steel panel. Removed handle. Then attached handle to new panel and attached to door assembly. However, not thinking removed screws from interior door assembly when it wasn’t necessary. Made more work for myself and had to be careful not to break interior glass on door. Was able to get it all together and back on oven. Saved myself quite a bit of money by doing it myself. The one repair company I contacted wanted to charge for diagnostics when I told them what was wrong and quoted price for exterior glass/stainless steel panel nearly twice as much as I paid. DIY to the rescue.
