How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5183444 / W10401225 Door Glass

I looked up parts using model number at appliancepartspros.com The parts arrived in a few days. I followed how to do video and was able to clean and repair in a little over an hour. The hardest Step was locking hinges to remove door. 

I broke the inner glass a long time ago then accent my broke the outer glass recently. Purchased both from this website having the best deal I could find and they shipped it out super fast. The actual replacement of the glass wasn't bad but I cleaned everything else really well which took extra time. 

I ordered a new door skin with glass and it was shipped and delivered in record time. The fix was quick and easy in 10 minutes. Thanks for your excellent service. 

Look about 15 minutes with just a Phillips screw driver super easy 

Remove the oven door from the oven. Partially open the door & flip up the latch at each hinge then lift the door from the oven. Lay the door down on a soft surface with the interior side facing up. Only four screws secure the outer panel to the door. Two screws are on the top edge and two secure the clamps on the bottom edge. Do not remove the screws in the oven-facing side of the door. Slide the interior part of the door toward the handle (upward) while lifting. Remove the four screws that secure the handle to the door. Pay attention to how the metal plates are aligned to the old panel and notice how loose they are and that they secure the handle to glass. Do not over tighten these screws. Remove the protective plastic film from the new outer door panel. Place the old plates around the holes on the new panel. Gently secure the old handle to the new panel. Turn the screws until the head contacts the glass. Do not tighten. Place the inner door on the outer panel sliding it down onto the clips. Check that the screw holes in the handle clips are aligned with the holes in the inner door. If not remove the inner door and adjust the clips. Do not force the clips. Tighten the two screws at the top & secure the clips and screws at the bottom. Align the hinges to the holes in the oven and insert. Push the oven door down to expose the latches. Flip the latches to secure the door to the oven. 

After a lenghty internet search I found what I needed to replace the door glass. Now one has to replace the entire door assembly instead of just the glass. I ordered the door one afternoon and it arrived the next day. Amazing service! The old door panel was removed and the new one installed. The handle was installed with the screws that protrude through the glass panel and were this time "snugged" until no movement was noted. Loctite was applied to the screws so they will not loosen again in the future. The whole job took less then 30 minutes including cleaning the other glass panels, and adjusting the panel brackets for a tight fit.
