How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5985108 / W10811151 Control Panel

I replaced the control panel allong with the float assembly. I also had to replace the door switch fuse. All repairs were easy to fix and took minimal time to complete. 

Removed the control panel to test the switch on the latch and the thermal cutoff with a meter (both working fine). No sign of water or corrosion in the circuit board, so all that was left was a failed control panel. The online pro at AppliancePartsPros identified the right part for me, found a picture for me to compare with the busted one. New part was cheaper than a number of other websites, and arrived in 24 hours (though I only paid for standard shipping). Swapped in the new control panel, and ten minutes later, had a working dishwasher again. Thanks Folks! 

Contacted tech support and described situation. Ordered new control panel and everything worked like new. 

We were doing a kitchen upgrade which included new stainless steel appliances. Our Maytag dishwasher was not that old and in perfect condition....but was white. Purchased a stainless front panel and control. 15 minutes to install and voile a new stainless steel dishwasher for $250 vs $750......my wife is very happy. 

Ordered the control panel, secured power, unplugged old one, removed it and installed new part 

Replaced entire panel. The screws were torqued to hard at factory breaking the backing. First time I took it off to replace broken handle the backings fell off. Replacement was easy and part was correct for repair. 

Maytag model MDB7749AWM1dishwasher had no power having had similar problems with this machine in the past so first action was to buy another panel after receiving and installing the new panel still no power. After Googleing the problem it sounded like I might have a bad thermal fuse. Returned to APP.com check out the part and the tutorial on how to replace it I purchased the part an received it the next day. Relatively easy fix and solved the problem. I'm going to hold on to the panel because on this model I am on my third panel so it's only a matter of time before I'll need another. Maytag designed this model to be susceptible to moisture getting into the electronics. 

Had an appliance repair service come out to my home and diagnose the problem with the touch panel. Wanted $355.00 for the panel. I watched him take the dishwasher apart and thought if I could get the part I would be able to do the repair myself. I ordered the part from you, removed the old panel, detached one wire from the computer control and reinstalled the handle and latch. I think the repair took a half an hour stat to finish. The savings was about $150.00 with the cost of the past and service call. 

Your operator told me what to order and I watched your video on how to remove and replace the electrical components that are located in the panel . Machine is as good as new. I was very much impressed with your service and with your website. 

I paid an appliance man to diagnosis the problem, he said it was the control block, and would cost $258 to replace. He recommended I buy a new dishwasher, since it was over 50% of the cost of a new one. I checked online with you, and found not only did he have the part wrong, but with the video ANYONE can replace the part. It arrived THE NEXT DAY, and fifteen minutes later I had a working dishwasher. THANKS!!!
