How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007441 / WP25001052 Washer Drain Pump Assembly

Googled Maytag "nd" code and read up on some forums about possible issues. Obviously it was a No Drain problem, but what part to order and fix? Watched a video pull it all apart, no obvious blockage and water could be cycled thru the pump so I ordered the switch first....NO GO, still didn't work. Ordered the new pump and since I had removed and reinstalled pump like 5 times already doing it again with new pump was easy! On to fixing other things in the house! 

I took out the bad drain pump and purchased a new one from AppliancePartsPros. I watched the video on how to remove the bad pump and install a new pump. Took a little over 30 minutes to put the new in. 

Replaced the part the video was very helpful .

I followed the instructions on the how-to video and fixed it in about 30 minutes machine works fine and I saved about $100. 

I replaced the drain pump and replaced the bearings and seals in the tub. 

Washer failed one night, gushing 15+ gallons of water across the floors. Called appliance service company out to take a look at it. Service rep. determined problem was drain pump and/or pressure switch. But because our washer was over 10-12yrs old, he claimed that parts were no longer available and we'd need to buy another washer. I went online to Appliance Parts Pros the next day, found the parts, watched their helpful DIY videos and ordered the parts. When the parts arrived the next day (yes, the next day!) I jumped right into the project already confident of the DIY due to the online help videos from Appliance Parts Pro. 20min later I was done and the washer was back up and running loads of laundry which made the wife very happy. 

I replaced all of the needed parts. I am disappointed that the shock absorbers ("struts") were not available to be replaced. It still needs struts and I can't find them anywhere on the internet except used ones on Ebay. Very disappointing! 

I received the item on time. I looked at the manual and watched the video as well. Everything was perfect from removing the old part to installing the new one. My wife was very happy! 

Replaced drain pump assembly. Highly recommend using gear clamps as the clamps that came with the original washer are hard to put back on.
