Gary K Rochester , WA March 21, 2016 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDS01FLSS1 The drain pump in our kitchenaid dishwasher was noisy and failing i believe the heat from high temp sanitary rinse and combined longer wash cycles shorten the life of a plastic pump After removing the lower cover plate, I could easily see the drain pump, so I simply reached in to remover the pump assembly which was tight, but removable. I used towels to soak up the water that ran out to drain pipe. I discovered the new pump assembly had a different electrical connection than the original. Rather than cut the old connector plug off and add new connection pig tails, I swapped the electrical portion of the pump assembly. The actual plastic pump disconnects from the electrical drive portion of the assembly, so I put the new pump with the original electrical drive. Then installed the pump assembly. It might have been easier to remove the dish washer from under the counter, but would have taken much more time. Melinda P Grand Prarie , TX September 19, 2014 Drain pump wore out on a kitchen aid dishwasher Dishwasher was flooding the kitchen so I ordered these two parts in hopes of fixing the problem instead of buying a new one. Parts matched perfectly and took about 1 hour to get the machine back up and running. You have to almost take the bottom half of the machine apart to get to the drain pump. All in all not too bad of a repair, save your hard earned $$ and do it yourself! Cheryl S Coral Springs , FL August 31, 2020 Appliance: Whirlpool Undercounter Dishwasher GU1500XTLQ0 My Whirlpool dishwasher was not draining. I cleaned out the dishwasher and found the check valve was bad. The Dishwasher started draining ok, until it would stop draining again every 2 weeks. I would vacuum out the water, check for clogs and found nothing. So I checked with Appliance Parts Pros for videos. Found that there were only a couple of things that could be bad. So by process of elimination, I ordered a NEW Drain Pump. Being 58 year old woman, I figured how bad could it be? Actually not bad. I watched the video and did exactly as it said and now my dishwasher is up and running great!!! Thank you Appliance Parts Pros for the video and such great parts. Maarten K Newark , CA October 11, 2015 The impellor came off the drain pump the dishwasher made a grinding noise and didn't drain I disconnected the power. I scooped out as much of the water as I could. I removed the filter plate and scooped out more water, then removed the food grinder and took out some debris to prevent future problems, then reassembled. I removed the lower skirt, placed a big towel under the drain hose and disconnected it to give me access to the drain pump. I undid the old drain pump and disconnected the two wires. I was able too remove the pump without pulling out the dishwasher. The new pump you sent went in without a hitch. After reassembly we were good to go. Patricia M Rockville , MD February 25, 2022 At the end of the washing cycle there was water left in the tub. I followed the steps in the video and it was very easy to replace the part. A bit of a challenge was that the drain pump was sort of stuck, after 20 years of use. But after some cleaning around I was able to remove it. Another challenge I had was that the copper tube that brings water into the machine was a bit difficult to reconnect to the water valve. I was able to reconnect it, but it is leaking a bit. Finally, the drain hose was moldy and I decided to replace it. First I got a generic part in Home Depot, but it was different from the original part. I ended up ordering the original part through AppliancePartsPros.com and that worked well. The one I got from HomeDepot helped me to guide the copper tube back. I didn't know how to get it from the dishwasher space into the under the sink space. So I attached the copper tube to the generic hose and got it to the place I needed it. Thanks to AppliancePartsPros.com for such a good video and for delivering the part so quickly and for a good price. Omar Read More...
