How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008294 / WP338906 Dryer Flame Sensor

Purchased a Flame sensor and Valve Coil units. I reviewed the YouTube videos and determined that the problem was one of these two units. I purchased both. Delivery was HALF the time quoted. Installation was as EASY as the video. Thank you for the speedy delivery and videos. The dryer works great now. I spent less than $30 instead of $500 for a new dryer !!! 

This dryer was left in a house my son purchased. I just went ahead and replaced the coils, flame sensor and ignitor and not it works fine. 

Ohmeter continuity check of all links in electrical circuit (all thermal pass/fail check low ohms ok; humidity combined with thermal pass/fail on exhaust also checked to have low ohms ok, and flame detector checked low ohms ok and both coils check low ohms ok, ignitor also checked as low ohms ok). But the flame detector and the two coils get the most "abuse" from having current go thru the coils to energize the gas release valves and can fail after being on for a bit of time as they heat up; same for flame detector since it is exposed to combustion flame near ignitor. Replaced both with parts ordered here and replaced (total swap time under 10 minutes; remount panels and back panel leads for total reassemble of 20 minutes and reinstall to gas fitting and checkout in under 30minutes. Heat is ok and unit turns on and off as expected. Considering holiday mail traffic your parts still made delivery under 2-3 days (storm delay). Overall biggest problem was discovering our model dryer requires lower panel to come off first then main from panel comes off 2nd. Video showed one piece panel - wrong for me. Lost most time there. Overall many thanks; right parts, lower prices and dependable delivery. 

I am a 68 year old grandmother. I have never attempted to repair any appliance, names of parts are foreign to me. My dryer is over 20 years old, what did I have to lose.I went to your web site, watched your repair video, learned what parts could be the problem, the names and use for each part and how to test them. I needed and ordered a radiant sensor. I received it, installed it and to my shock I again have a working dryer.Thank you for the part but mostly thank you for the knowledge. 

By the symptoms from your web site i diagnosed it to be either the gas coils or the flame sensor. and with the helpful videos replaced both!! the price was not to expensive and the parts were shipped quickly. installed parts in about 15 mins and dryer is now working like new!! 

I'm sure it was just the flame sensor but I also replaced the two coils. Price was great and delivery was quick. Installed the parts and the dryer works like new. 

I watched the videos on the Appliancepartspros website. I did some testing and figured out the parts that I needed. Their regular shipping arrived in just 2 days! 

With the advice of Jayson at appliancepartspros, he sent me the correct parts within a half hour the dryer was 100% working, Best part the price was very affordable, did not need a service call, only needed a Phillips screw driver and flash light. Thanks Jayson. H Salcone, Warren, Ohio 

Found appliance parts on seen how easy it was to fix so order all 4 parts to repair problem since 3 were inside machine took about one and half hours to repair works like brand new now thanks appliance parts pros
