I searched this site for the right part on a Sunday when customer service was unavailable. Even though I had the make and model number of my Whirlpool side by side refrigerator and ordered the recommended part it was not the right one when I received it. I had to send this part back and with the help of the chat feature on the web site I ordered the "right" one. This resulted in me paying about $9.00 for the original part shipping and $15 to USPS to return it. So be careful, there are many parts that look similar and I would recommend that you check with customer service to ensure you're getting the right part the first time. The actual repair went fine, easy removal of the old ice maker and reinstalling the new one. You'll have to transfer some parts from the old ice maker to the new one on this model. I had to switch the bail, the end cover and the water inlet funnel. 

Found the replacement ice maker on the Appliance Parts Pros website , purchased it at very reasonable price, received it in two days, removed the old one as per the video, installed the new ice maker, and over night my ice was full of ice! Thanks , it was very easy! 

After an online search I saw that there was an adjustment for water level. Against my better judgment I turned the wrong point and broke the ice maker. Subsequently ordered the new replacement part. I was amazed at the speed of delivery and availability of the part. One screw and one connector surprisingly simple, We have had this refrigerator since 2001. 

Ordered new ice maker from appliance pro, arrived quick, in 2 days. Im 70 year old female, only had socket set. Nut driver would have worked better. Top screw closest to front was very hard to reach when screwing back together. 

The video provided was spot on and perfectly in sync with my model. The only difference was that I have a freezer on the bottom-style appliance. I took longer to clear out my freezer than the actual repair. 

Ice maker was worn out, flaking in the tray. I replaced the unit. 

Replaced the ice maker. 15min and done. Took longer to line up and install the bottom freezer door than install the ice maker. Disassembled the old unit and discovered the heating unit had burned out. Also installed a new fill valve as well. Not my first rodeo. BTW, shipping was amazingly fast.
