After months of searching the Kitchen Aid websites troubleshooting the repair on an 25 year old, 42” counter depth refrigerator that otherwise is in great shape and seeing the parts no longer available, I finally googled the problem again. Upon coming across a video showing a possible alternate defect, I found AppliancePart Pro website carried the replacement icemaker part. I thought it was the water line. This indicated it could be a burnt contact on the unit. I was hesitant but decided to order and not only was the part delivered quickly but it fixed the problem. Instead of looking to replace a VERY expensive refrigerator OR not have an icemaker, this was a welcome and relieving fix.
