How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4135008 / D7824706Q Ice Maker

I installed the replacement part. Only thing I did different from anyone else was carefully clean the new replacement ice maker of oily sawdust on the edge of ice cube tray part. I assume this was a manufacturing leftover. Also my bottom L-bracket was badly bent on the new part, so I just used the old bracket. Works great! Took me longer to clean the inside of my freezer, yuck!

After replacement, the ice maker worked liked it did on Day 1. 

Watched the YouTube video and followed the instructions. I also turned off the main water supply just in case during the parts replacement.

Got the replacement, watched a youtube video for replacing my particular model. Uninstalled the old one (about 5 minutes) and installed the new one (about 10 minutes). Hard part was that since this was a side-by-side fridge/freezer I didn't have line-of-sight on the mounting screws due to the narrow width of the freezer, Took a few tries to actually get the screwdriver properly set on the screws. 

Purchased a replacement ice maker and it now works great. Easy install with the help of YouTube. Ice maker was shipped and arrived very quickly.
