How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4135008 / D7824706Q Ice Maker

Replaced the old one with the new one. 

Swapped out the old icemaker for a new one. 

Replaced icemaker kit. 

Purchased a replacement ice maker from AppliancePartsPros.com Installed it with little trouble, tight squeeze. And guess what? It works! 

New ice maker. 

Replaced it. Simple repair. Watched a video on youtube first. 

Searched for a reputable-looking parts firm online - came across AppliancePartsPros.com....consdered parts options. Also looked at their video and YouTube. Looked like the easiest fix was to replace the entire ice maker for about $125 - so ordered one. Timely arrival. Replaced the ice maker, but no ice! Whoops - forgot to turn the water line back on.! 

I initially replaced the motor but ended up replacing the complete ice maker. I was confused by the wiring harnesses included with the new unit - they didn't match my old unit. Called Keith at AppliancePartsPros.com and realized I would just reuse my existing harnesses. All went well until I tried installing the bottom screw and realized I had to install the old bottom pan as well - not a big deal, just a learning experience. 

Ordered a new ice maker it works perfectly. 

Replaced the ice maker. I ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com and it was delivered in a very timely manner. Installation was fairly easy. The unit works perfectly.
