How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6034205 / W10909089 Lower Door Seal

Bottom door seal. 

Ordered the bottom door seal and it came with the exact video instruction of how to replace it, which was AMAZINGLY helpful. Once it was installed, the leak was fixed. Also the part arrived in like 2 days, very fast. 

Watched a couple videos including the one on this site, ordered the part and replaced it. My model Kitchenaid and one additional complication because most of the wiring harness was attached to the outer door and I could not figure out a way to cleanly detach without fear of breaking something. But there was plenty of play in the wires and I was able to pivot it to the side.

Purchased the dishwasher door lower seal from Appliance Parts Pros and followed the Appliance Parts Pros You Tube Video. 

Part arrived, I watched video of professional doing it as I did it. Cut finger on bottom of door. Sharp where it clicks in. Easy with video. 

I replaced the bottom door seal. I ordered the part on Friday afternoon and received the part on Monday. Watched the video on your site. You people are the best. Saved money and time. 

Replaced the lower door seal. 

Replaced inside rubber door seal and door bottom seal. The bad seal was only slightly damaged but enough to leak. Looking at the slight damage I would never have guessed it would cause the leak. The bottom door seal was a pain in the neck. Getting the screw holes lined up was tedious even with taping seal in place. My suggestion is to use a self tapping screw from bottom seal removed earlier and to start the screw in the seal to 'tap' the plastic. Do not screw all the way in just start it so that when seal is taped on place the screw will 'bite' easier when installing the bottom door seal . This will save lots of frustration.
