How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6034205 / W10909089 Lower Door Seal

After watching AppliancePartsPros.com video, it was a fairly easy process. My door didn't completely come away as in the video due to some extra wiring harnesses, I was able to access the part as described in the video. I was extremely impressed with the vast number of parts available on the website and VERY happy with the speed of getting this to me. This was certainly much easier and cheaper than buying a new dishwasher and having to install it. 

The replacement lower door seal fixed my issue. It was a fairly easy part swap and the order arrived quickly from AppliancePartsPros.com. 

I googled the problem and was directed to a YouTube video, which was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, it was not my exact model, but close enough. Based upon that, I ordered the part from the website. The exploded diagram was helpful. The fact that it was an original part was reassuring. I could’ve spent a few dollars less from another supplier and save the postage but I’m glad I bought it from AppliancePartsPros.com. I’m happy to support a company that put so much information out there for do it yourself is like me. 

So, I replaced the inside seal gasket and bottom lower door seal thinking that was causing the middle of the door panel to leak/dip. I spent $100 on two parts only to find out that they are not the parts that will fix this problem. I am awaiting repairman tomorrow to figure it out. $80 now for service call. The parts I ordered were brand new and what my dishwasher takes but I'm no repairman and should have just called the pros from the start. Lesson learned... 

Replaced the lower door seal and the and the tub seal around the inside of the dishwasher. I need to buy a magnetic a magnetic wrench and a t-15 Torx. Cost about $20.00 bucks total at home depot. The videos on AppliancePartsPros.com guided me through the repair and it took about 30 minutes and was fairly easy. Best of all, it worked and saved me calling an appliance repairman. 

I searched the internet for information and a video on how to repair leaking dishwasher door and came upon a repair video from your appliance parts pro website. I was able to easily identify the parts required from your website. I ordered the part from your website. The part arrived and I then when to your website and followed the instructions in the video simultaneously as I completed the repair. The video was excellent and accessing the repair video was easy there was a drop down tab on the parts order. The whole process was awesome and the repair was successful. I remember as a kid going to the local appliance parts repair store and my Dad talking with the guy who diagnosed the repair, got us the part and explained how to make a repair. In this modern age with the use of your website I was able to easily show my kids how to repair an appliance. Thank you 

Ordered the part, and followed the repair video on youtube. 

I replaced the bottom plastic door seal. 

The part from AppliancePartPros.com was perfect and I followed the associated video. While there are some differences in each dishwasher, the video guided me step by step to replace the lower door seal. I used a nut driver that was not magnetic; however, a magnetic nut driver would have made the job a lot easier. 

I replaced a few parrs while I had the door off. I replaced the lower door seal and the gasket for the nylon nut for the float switch. The nut for the float switch. I feel was not tight as I was able to move it some with my fingers, the gasket looked worn so I replaced that with the lower door seal, I also replaced the seal around the door and have no leaks anymore. I can say all the DYI videos on AppliancePartsPros.com were really helpful even though it was not for my exact model, I was able to figure things out from the videos. I am glad I was able to fix the dishwasher leak.
