Thanks to Jason and his tech people at Appliance Parts Pro, I was able to remove and replace the seal and eliminate all leaks at the bottom of the door. I have a Kitchenaide (Whirlpool) dishwasher model KUDC10IXBL1. This time I replaced the front and rear bearings and thrust bearing and all the gears. The hardest part is thoroughly cleaning out all the old grease. After re-greasing and assembly mixer ran like new. I wish a more robust worm gear was available. A snap ring plier is a must for this job. Read more

• Leaking

I thought it was the gasket so I ordered a new one. While waiting for it to arrive I read some other forums where I read that sometimes the air vent on the front could be dirty and cause leaking. I popped out that vent cover and it was clogged. Using an old toothbrush and a tiny paint brush I cleaned all of the gunk out. No more leak even with the old gasket in place. I'll save the new gasket for when I need it in the future. Read more

Checked out You tube video. Easy tune up. One gasket was damaged and I did not notice that the brush holders has no brushes. I believe a quick call to Appliance parts pros will fix this, besides I need a few more parts. I expect to get another 20+ years from this KitchenAide mixer, once repairs are competed. First tried replacing the seal around the door as that was the simple and most logical fix. Still leaked. Removed the front and upper panel to inspect. Found calcium deposit running down from under the Air Vent Assembly and wet behind the black stick-on insulation.
