How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6019087 / WPW10300024 Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly

With the help of the chat team, I narrowed it down to the ice maker unit itself. Ordered the right unit and installed it. Problem solved!!! 

I watched this video, which helped me with removing the ice maker from the refrigerator. I could not find the entire assembly anywhere, so I purchased this part. I removed the old part from the rest of the assembly and installed the new part. Replaced the entire assembly in the refrigerator and it works again. It was a little difficult getting the old part off. It was about a week between when I removed the old part and was able to install the new part. I would recommend taking pictures or video when removing to make re-installing it easier. With the time in between removal and install it took me a little extra time to remember how the assemble went together. Other than that, it was fairly simple. 

I replaced the ice maker with the help of a friend who had replaced his a week earlier (different model and a much easier replacement). If he had not searched YouTube for ice maker replacement using the specific model number and found a video, we would not have been able to do the job. There were a few “tricks” to removing the ice maker. 

The ice maker assembly fixed the issue. Easy to install which is always nice.

Researched Appliance Parts Pros website and called your tech help line and found I needed a new ice maker assy and not a dispenser display panel. Ordered the ice maker and it was delivered in two days. I watched your great video several more times, followed the instructions and completed the replacement. No problems. I plugged in the refrigerator, heard the ice maker tray fill with water and about two hours later heard ice cubes falling into the ice container. I am happy I could repair the refrigerator myself without an expensive service call.

Replaced ice maker Assembly. Upon in doing found the old assembly had two loose screws could been a cheap quick fix. Anyway it’s working and cheaper than calling the Maytag Man, who died about five years ago. Thank you Appliance Pro.
