How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3904440 / 280159 Suspension Spring Kit

We ordered the parts and watched the videos provided by Appliance Parts Pros and did the repair ourselves. Local repair co gave us an estimate of $500 to do the very same repair. By doing the repair ourselves we saved more than $350. We replaced all 3 shocks and both springs. The shocks were harder to remove than the video led you to believe, the tabs did not release for us as easily as in the video, but we eventually got them with some force. I was so thrilled to be able to repair the machine ourselves as it is only 5 years old. 

I replaced both the springs and the shocks. One of the springs was slightly sprung. Be prepared for the extra weight when lowering the drum! The job went very smoothly. I saved a whole lot of time by replacing all the shocks through the front of the washer. There was plenty of room to get my arms through to the back of the washer, and all of the bolts were easily accessible. 

Replaced the shock absorbers, also the driver belt. 

Found most common parts needed . Ordered parts, installed, works like new. Website was easy.Entered model number, located parts on diagram, ordered parts, received 2 days later. Also had video on how to install, great help! 

I replaced the shocks suspension springs, and drive belt (as long as I was in there.) I watched the videos and did what they said. It took about an hour to do everything. They do not have a video on how to change the drive belt, so I watched how they changed the pulley out.
