Peter M Houston , TX May 08, 2016 Appliance: Model MHWE200XW00 MAYTAG The problem was that the counter wieght was broke springs replaced shock absrobor First remove the back from the washing machine. Top of the machine came off simple. To replace springs, I took a crow bar but it on the right side underneath where one of the springs should be. Lift the tumbler up remove and replace the spring. Did the same thing to the other side. On the tumbling unit there are spaces for three shock absorbers. Mine only had one shock in the middle. I put two new springs, one in the front and one in the rear. Then I replaced the right side spring with two new springs. The way to remove the springs are, use a screw driver but it in the top slot of the spring and turn it counter clock wise and do the same to the bottom of the spring. Replacing the counter weight, remove three bolts on top of the tumbler unit. Put new counter weight on top of tumbler and screw it back in. Replace back of washing machine. Then you are finished. Sheila F Niles , MI March 29, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Washer MHWE301YW00 Suspension spring broke and washer drum snapped a shock in half as it dropped. We ordered the parts and watched the videos provided by Appliance Parts Pros and did the repair ourselves. Local repair co gave us an estimate of $500 to do the very same repair. By doing the repair ourselves we saved more than $350. We replaced all 3 shocks and both springs. The shocks were harder to remove than the video led you to believe, the tabs did not release for us as easily as in the video, but we eventually got them with some force. I was so thrilled to be able to repair the machine ourselves as it is only 5 years old. Mark P Mundelein , IL August 07, 2017 Washer making loud banging noises and walking across the floor I replaced both the springs and the shocks. One of the springs was slightly sprung. Be prepared for the extra weight when lowering the drum! The job went very smoothly. I saved a whole lot of time by replacing all the shocks through the front of the washer. There was plenty of room to get my arms through to the back of the washer, and all of the bolts were easily accessible. Jonathan S Wahpeton , ND March 24, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Washer MHWE200XW00 A lot of vibration during spin cycle. I replaced the shocks suspension springs, and drive belt (as long as I was in there.) I watched the videos and did what they said. It took about an hour to do everything. They do not have a video on how to change the drive belt, so I watched how they changed the pulley out. Read More...
