How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4070068 / 61004388 Ice Door Spring (Dispenser Chute)

Replaced Ice door Fountain Kit & Spring, Bracket - F. 

Replaced the solenoid, plunger, ice door flapper and plastic arm, small spring, and small light bulb. Watched youtube for a couple replacement videos. Pretty easy change out. Take off the hinge cover plate at the top of the door and disconnect the electrical connector. 

Used parts from ice door fountain kit and replaced ice door spring. Took about 20 minutes, works great. 'Thank you for having the parts readily available. Much appreciated! 

New spring. 

Fixed in 10 minutes with repair kit. On-site video made the job easy-peasy.

I replaced the ice maker chute door that was letting air into the freezer causing frost to build up. 

I ordered the Fountain door kit. I used a screwdriver and #10 Torx. I'm a Jack-of-all-trades, but have never worked on an ice maker before. First, I unplugged the refrigerator. The front panel popped off with ease. Once I got in I could see what needed to be disconnected. All parts fit like a charm, with the exception of the pin-roll. I could not figure out where this was located. The fountain works great. I could not believe how fast the order was received. The same day I ordered, I received confirmation that it had shipped.
