How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4009656 / 12002773 Spring Kit (6 Springs)

Replaced the snubber ring and 6 springs. I watched the step-by-step video on your website. The video was very detailed and made my repair easier. I saved more than $200 doing the repair myself. 

Changing snubber ring and springs solved the problem. Tilt tub toward spring to be installed. Makes it much easier to install. 

Followed the video. I did not remove the motor which saved some time, i pulled the tub straight up and out. I used a screwdriver to install the new springs which was much easier, I could use both hands on the screwdriver to pull the spring vs one hand with pliers which slipped a lot. 

Replaced springs and snubber ring. Took about 1-1/2 hours. 

I used the suggestions online. I replaced snubber ring, 2 new front legs, new belt and new springs. I had no trouble at all until the last rear spring, I didn't have the leverage and strength to get it hooked. Someone said they took the outside shell off, that may have worked but my screws were corroded. Finally I got it hooked by tilting the washer forward and going in from the back and letting the weight of the washer help me to hook it. I am very happy with the repair. I love this company and the videos, even though I need to adjust it to fit a small widow's strength. I have used them many times in the past and will continue to do so. 

Our 10-year old Maytag large-capacity washer was making noise and bouncing around during spin cycle. We reviewed your videos and ordered the spring kit, new drive belt and snubber ring. The detail videos were excellent and we had no problems following instructions and putting it back together. Success, problem solved! Word of advice, even though the snubber ring appear to have minor wear and springs were okay, both were actually worn. Go ahead and replace both if you are going to open it up.

I replaced the springs, snubber, and drive belt. Took about 2 hours because the drain hose clamp was very difficult to put back on because of its position. I finally used a hose clamp from a car. Snubber was fine, but I replaced it anyway. The whole job was relatively easy to do.
