How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5787784 / W10613606 Compressor Start Relay

Went online to appliance parts pros.com found the model number looked up what we thought the part was we might need ordered it and 3 days later my kitchen refrigerator was working!!!! 

Replaced thermostat and found the start compositor on the compressor was blown , ordered parts from Appliance Parts Pros - everything was shipped quickly, and all were correct components. Very Happy! 

We had an electrical surge from a weather event, and the freezer/refrigerator wouldn't stay cool. We replaced the compressor start relay and run capacitor, not sure which or if both were the problem but the start relay is inexpensive so might as well replace it too. We watched the video on the repair, and it was great! No issues with following instructions and the refrigerator runs like new. 

Replaced relay 

Called appliance parts pros after checking compressor capacitor ordered parts with a little help from a very and polite and savy lady...after recieving the parts the next day ,thankyou, i watched the attached utube video and replaced the compressor start relay and cleaned the coils. the repair was easier than removing and replacing the appliace with a new unit and also cheaper.. 

Searched the inter-webs and it was indicated that the Compressor Start Relay was 77 percent of the time the problem. I watched a video on the repair and decided I could do it. Possibly save $1500 - $2000 on a new frig. The parts that came in were slightly different than what was there. However the new parts worked fine. The refrigerator is up and running as it should. 

Ordered this and replaced both parts - works fine now. Nothing more to say - replaced the original part exactly . 

Replaced the compressor start relay. 

Ordered a compressor start relay and watched the video. 

Replaced the compressor start relay assembly. The white piece, the receptacle between the compressor and the relay was evidently fried.
