How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5787784 / W10613606 Compressor Start Relay

I ordered a starting relay and run capacitor from AppliancePartsPros.com, which was great service fast shipping, and instructions on how to. It's now working beautifully after a technician came by and told me I needed a compressor. 

Replaced freezer thermostat and run capacitor at the compressor site. So far so good. 

Went to the Appliance Parts Pros website and clicked on the symptoms icon. Found the fridge and freezer symptoms and what would be required to fix the issue we were having. It suggested that the compressor start relay could be bad. I watched the repair video, removed the part, and tested it. It had a rattle inside the part and I ordered a new compressor start relay. The fridge and freezer are working like new. This saved us from having to buy a new fridge and freezer. Thank you for your website and the information to research the problem we were having. 

Watched video on how to replace the compressor start relay and followed the instructions. 

We followed the trouble shooting tips on here. Vacuumed the coils... nothing. Checked the compressor start relay... took it off, shook it, and there it was... an unmistakable rattle like that of a broken light bulb. Once we got the part, it took less than a minute to install. Our fridge works better than before the part broke. I guess it had been limping along for a while. 

I replaced the starter relay.

With the help of Appliance Parts Pros, they had listed various problem fixes for my appliance. I used their advice and replaced the compressor start device P/N AP5787784 and that solved the first problem. The next problem I ran into the frig was getting too cold even after adjusting the temperature control. Again going to Appliance Parts Pros and with their advice I replaced the Electronic Control Board P/N AP6022400 problem solved and it is running like a champ. The frig is 18 years old.
