How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007666 / WP3149400 Range Surface Element Switch

Replaced the infinite switch. 

Replaced the surface element switch by following the instructions in the 'how-to' video. Now it works like new! 

I talked to the tech at Appliance Parts Pros and was told I needed a surface element switch for each burner. I ordered them and replaced them, which took about 20 min. total and the burners are working like new again. Thank you so much. 

I replaced the surface element switch by following the directions from the provided video. It was quite an easy process. The stem was too long, so I used pliers to shorten it. 

Googled the problem and got information on possible defective part. Put in model number of stove and found part described as defective. Looked at reviews of part and selected the part that others stated was their same problem. Watched the video that was at the bottom of the part listing and changed the part that was defective. Fixed the problem. 

Replaced 

I replaced the infinite switch. 

I replaced the surface element switch. A very easy job; I unplugged the range, then removed twelve screws which held the back cover. The knob on the surface element switch pulled off without any tools, revealing the two screws which held the switch in place. I removed those, pulled out the old switch, and replaced it with the new switch. The wires to the old switch were fitted to two custom plastic plugs, which detached easily from the old switch and slid onto the new switch. Then I replaced the back cover, plugged in the range, and slid it back into place. Everything now works fine. 

New control.. Easy install. Access control, remove and replace with reconnecting the wires. 

Replaced controller and burner sockets.
