How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007666 / WP3149400 Range Surface Element Switch

The controller (knob) had a short, we could hear arcing, then the burner would have runaway heat. We changed the controller and that stopped the arcing but did not stop the runaway heat. I will replace the heat sensor and burner next. 

Ordered a new controller and installed it. 

Replaced two of them. Went accorrding to instructions. Perfect fit. 

Replaced front burner switch 

Replace temperature control. 

Replaced the element switch 

REPLACED BURNER CONTROL SWITCH WHICH TOOK VERY LITTLE TIME. EASY FIX ! 

After all the time she spent with me trying to solve the problem which I would like to say she was OUTSTANDING, patience kindness. Suggested that we should look at the video IT WORKED my husband is an I can do it...he watched PROBLEM SOLVED~~ 

Replaced the module with a similar one that was available at your site. 

I picked up a new burner, installed it and then realized that the burner was not getting any power to operate it. After following the electrical wire to see where it went, which was the burner switch. I got the model and serial # (located by the oven door) and went to AppliancePartsPros.com to search for the switch needed. That took me some time because I am slow on computers. Ordered the part and installed it.
