Serge C Brandon , VT July 11, 2017 Appliance: Jenn-Air Refrigerator JCD2289AES My ice / water dispenser would not stop dispensing! The actuator pad, which depends on the ability of the rubber to return to its original shape, had lost that ability and therefore would not pull back the switch actuator. I decided to replace the switch also. The new is quite harder to depress so I had to add a light coil spring around the actuator enabling the new pad to return to return to it's position, which seemed to bind when activated. I had the spring. All in all it was a relatively easy repair. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers

Jim R Torrance , CA April 22, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MSD2454GRW The ice and water dispenser would no longer stop after filling the glass I ordered the limit switch and pad actuator as others on the site recommended. The fix was super easy. If I could do it anyone can. The only problem was rusted screws on the ice dispenser faceplate. WD-50 took care of that. You need a 15 torx and a phillips screwdriver. Most screwdriver head sets for electric drills and screwdrivers already have the torx driver head, mine did. Read More... Stephen G Parkville , MD January 19, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MSD2434GEW Ice would continue to dispense I replaced the limit switch and the pad. Very easy to do. Just take note of the position of the solenoid and spring for the ice dispenser door flap. Should these parts come loose and fall out you will need to remember how to reinstall them. Especially the spring. I thought I had everything perfect when I put it back together. I was wrong. The ice dispenser door flap was not tight to the housing. This caused air to enter and frost to build up. To fix this I had to take it apart again and twist the spring one turn to get the correct spring tension. This kept the correct pressure on the ice dispenser flap. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
