How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6015748 / WPW10143586 Dispenser Motor And Switch Assembly

Appliance Pros web page told me which part I would need (along with youtube). I pulled the top off the machine, pulled the part out, double checked locally (cost was always higher and nobody had it in stock), ordered the part had it within two or three days and installed it in less than 30 minutes. 

Replaced the motor W10143586 that moves the dispenser diverter. The website showed what part I needed and described exactly how to remove and replace it. I ordered the part after work on a Wednesday, using standard shipping. It arrived before noon the next day. This website made it very easy to diagnose and repair. 

I had an F30 error on my Maytag 3000 front load washer, found y'alls video on YouTube and actually followed your link and bought the Motor & Switch Assembly WPW10143586 from your website. It came next day, was amazing! I followed the video and everything went great except I wish the order would have come with that $4 Dispenser Actuator Cam WP8540393 part. My old motor had blue round part that has an equally slotted bit but y'alls new motor has a orange top with a slightly off center spot to attach the old Actuator Cam. Otherwise great experience, thank you all for posting the HOW TO videos and for having LOWER prices than amazon! In future though I would strongly recommend including the actuator part along with the motor and switch assembly as a packaged deal, even if it cost a little more because there was no way for me to see the small difference.

I replaced the Dispenser Motor and Switch Assembly. Part# AP6015748 for my Whirlpool Duet Sport. 

I replaced the Switch. 

Bought parts that You Tube demonstration recommended. Worked out great! I purchased all parts associated with the Error 30. Set me back a whopping 50 bucks. If I can get two additional years out of this fix, I’ll be happy with the repair. 

Removed the panel under the door and drained the water from the washer. Then removed the top and found no obstructions with the dispenser motor. Isolated the dispenser motor, checked the resistance in the motor and discovered the motor had failed. Removed and replaced the motor. Incidentally, I paid an extra $6.00 for guaranteed two day delivery and I received the motor in 1.5 days. Kudos to Appliance Parts Pros. I washed a load of laundry with the top off to check for proper operation of the linkage components and discovered the linkage was rough and bouncing. The linkage from the dispenser motor to and including inside the dispenser box was removed, thoroughly cleaned with a vinegar solution and reinstalled. Another load of laundry was washed while observing the operation of the linkage. The motor and linkage functioned flawlessly. I was quite surprised how a very small buildup of calcium/grit on the linkage could affect the operation as it did. Lesson learned was to clean the linkage on a semi-annual schedule, which should increase the longevity of the dispenser motor. 

Ordered part from your website/it came in two business days which was fast!! Removed the two screws holding the times-dis in place and disconnected two were harness power cords attached to the timer-dis… removed the attachment arm… then i put in the new timer-dis- following the removal process- backwards… 

This is the fourth replace ment so it was easy.
