Derexter D Cincinnati , OH August 13, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MDE6700AYW T5 error code I had to replace the thermistor and the thermostat. They are located under the front panel of the dryer. Once I entered service mode and cleared the error code, the dryer worked. To enter service mode, turn on the dryer and hold down the chime and temperature buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. From there, press the wrinkle prevent button and you will see a d. Hold the sensor dry level and time buttons for 3 seconds to clear the t5 error code. Turn the dryer off and then on again. Start your dryer cycle. Jeffrey W Daufuskie Is , SC April 10, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MDE9700AYW Dryer was running but not heating I removed the top (two screws in the back) then 4 screws that hold the plastic console, 4 screws along the top edge of the door panel. 2 additional screws inside the door then the door panel can be removed. Un plug the door switch, remove door panel then in the lower right the heating element, thermal fuse thermostat, thermistor are all exposed. Test them all for continuity, and the thermal fuse was open. The thermistor also did not have continuity, and I learned later that it should normally read 10K Ohms at 70 degrees. I installed the new parts when they arrived, and Voila! The dryer heats again.
