Jeffrey S Crivitz , WI January 05, 2024 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MDE6700AYW My Maytag dryer would not heat up anymore I had no idea how to take this Maytag dryer apart to get at the heating element. AppliancePartsPros.com has an awesome video for a D.I.Y. repair job of this easy fix. Do yourself a favor and watch the repair video, it is very well explained on how to get the job done easily and correctly. It took me less than 30 minutes to take it apart and remove the heater assembly and I wanted to make sure I was ordering the exact type of parts to fix the problem. While you have it apart seriously clean it out the best you can. There is the heater element, thermistor and the thermal fuse on this heater unit. So I ordered all 3 parts to eliminate the possibility of having to take it apart again and replacing the thermistor and thermal fuse. It took less than 30 minutes to put it all back together and again that was easy to do. The dryer works like new again and the D.I.Y. fix saved me over a $1000 bucks for the cost of a new Maytag dryer. Thank you all at AppliancePartsPros.com for the awesome repair video and having the exact fit replacement parts. Sincerly; Jeff, Retired U.S.M.C. Veteran, OOO-RAH! Read More... Steve W Stillman Valley , IL May 07, 2020 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer NGD7200TW10 Gas dryer would not thoroughly dry clothes. I initially decided to replace the flame sensor (most common failure), the high cut-off thermostat, the thermistor & moisture sensor (since the auto cycle didn’t seem to work at all), and the igniter (after I may have damaged it while cleaning the heat chamber). I added the remaining thermostat since everything else was being replaced. This did NOT fix my problem. After several google searches, I came across a post that described weak gas valve coils that would work for several cycles, then would not be strong enough to open the valve. This sounded exactly like my situation, so I ordered the coils only ($18 versus $260 for the entire valve assembly). This fixed my problem. The thermistor and moisture sensor were probably good replacements since the auto cycle works fine again. Read More... Jacob E Goldfield , IA January 15, 2020 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MDE9700AYW My dryer was not heating I took apart the dryer to have access to the heating element and sensors. I used a multimeter to test the element and sensors and found that the element had broken after only 18 months. The broken element and sensors were supposed OEM replacements for the original element and sensors that had lasted over 10 years. Once the new parts arrived I changed them all out to hopefully avoid having to replacement any of them again in the near future. This is the second appliance I have repaired using parts from AppliancePartsPros.com and I am extremely satisfied with the parts I have received. I will never buy supposed OEM parts from anywhere else but AppliancePartsPros.com again! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

Michael J Florence , MS September 29, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MDE9700AYW Dryer would not turn on but timer was working hugh temp thermostat and thermistor needed replacing I removed more parts than I had too once I received the wrong parts due to a pulling error at the warehouse. The reason for pulling more parts was because my fan had so much build up I cleaned the fan blades and fan housing along with the lint filter housing. I also applied silicon spray to the roller bearing since I had it open. General cleaning took a while but well worth it. Dryer was a fire hazard and well worth the extra time. Fan performs better. Once the correct parts came in it took 10 minutes to reassemble. The thermostat and thermistor were checked with an amp meter to locate the problem. Read More...
