How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3115186 / 675813 Thermal Fuse

Replaced the thermal fuse. 

I was able to fix it courtesy of the exceptional video tutorial and part provided by the seller. Now my machine is up and running again. Greatly appreciate the quick order processing, speedy delivery, quality product and packaging and of course the video showing how to perform the repair. Would 100% recommend doing business with this company.

Dishwasher shut off after initially starting and had no power. Watched AppliancePartsPros.com repair videos and narrowed it down to thermal fuse. Ordered part which took less than 48 hours to receive. Replaced thermal fuse and the dishwasher is working great! I’ve used AppliancePartPros.com in the past for a dryer repair and their videos are amazing. You can see every step clearly in order to perform the repair. 

Changed the Thermal Fuse based on the stories here, and it's as good as new! Easy to swap out, no skills required. 

I replaced the Thermal Fuse. It fixed the problem. 

Our dishwasher drain was starting to smell a bit, so I decided to run an empty cycle on "hot" (pots & pans setting). About halfway through, it shut off and the buttons were unresponsive. After a google search, I assumed the hot setting blew the thermal fuse, so I went online and (as with a previous issue with our dryer) bought a part on AppliancePartsPros.com. It arrived a few days later, I watched the video that they provided on how to switch it out, and the washing machine works again! Easy peasy, probably saved a couple of hundred bucks over hiring an electrician. The only difficult part was trying to get one of the wires released, but overall it took less than 30 minutes. If it hadn't been for that pesky wire clip, it would've taken less than 10. 

We looked on-line and found that 66% of the time the thermal fuse was the problem, so we ordered and replaced the fuse. That did not solve the problem. More looking on the internet found that the dishwasher has a sales mode that prevents it from starting. We had never heard of the sales mode previously. We followed the instructions for turning off the sales mode by sequentially pressing 2 buttons. The dishwasher then worked normally. 

Ordered and received a replacement thermal fuse. The included instructions (and online how-to video) were pretty clear and replacing the fuse fixed the problem. Part was shipped quickly so total time from ordering to completing the repair was less than a week. 

I followed along with the video and it worked like a charm! My 5 year old granddaughter watched and learned that even grandmothers can fix things without fear. I showed her how to make sure there was no electricity, the water turn offs, which way to turn screws and how to clip in the posts. So easy. Took 15 minutes and panel lights were on!
