How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3094463 / 285587 Washer Agitator Thrust Washer

Cam agitator repair kit. Remove cap. Remove sealing cover. Loosen retaining bolt. Pull out aggitor shaft, thrust washer. Clean all non-replacing parts. Put back together. Add vasoline where needed. Works great! Thanks! 

Realized we had a problem and did a quick google search for our model number washer. Luckily the first website I found was "appliancepatspros" and within minutes found the parts I needed and some of the best instructional videos I could ask for. I really could not believe it was all right there. The videos ultimately showed me how it came apart so I could find the problem. Ordered the parts on sunday night and had them in hand on Tuesday. It only took about five minutes to replace the parts and our 16 year old washer was back in business! Thanks 

Replaced thrust washer and clutch 

My fiancée took the agitator apart and saw that the dogs and thrust washer had been deteriorated over time. We then ordered the new parts and he put tem in and put the agitator back together. 

I got on YouTube and found a fix it video by AppliancePartsPro. It showed me how to replace the agitatior dogs on my washing machine and I was able to click on the link to their site and order by parts. I received my parts in 2 days and my washer is working properly again now.

Installed replacement cogs 

The center bolt came loose and the agitator assembly flew out of the washer. The bolt was not very long and the threads were stripped. I bought a longer bolt at the hardware and purchased the thrust washer here, which shattered during ejection. The repair cost me less than 10 bucks and everything works great!
