How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016541 / WPW10185982 Dryer Timer Control

Bought new timer. 

Ordered a new timer and replaced it. 

Got the new timer, very easy installation and dryer is working great again. Thanks. 

I just had to remove a small panel behind my dryer to access the area I needed to get to. I was then able to easily switch out the old part. It was exactly the part I needed and replacing it has fixed the issue (timer would not progress so, the dryer would not turn off by itself) 

Replaced timer. 

Replaced with parts ordered from appliance parts pros. 

Received the part sooner than expected, so thanks for the quick service. Video on part's page explained what would have to be done to switch the timer properly. It was a simple plug and play and completed in less than 15 minutes. Thanks for the quick service and video. 

Replaced with new timer. Very simple repair. Take 4 screws out of back shield, take timer knob off by pulling it towards you. Take 2 screws out of timer. Unwire the timer, wires cannot be put on wrong. They will only go one way. Replace timer with new one and then put screws back in timer, put screws back in shield replace the timer knob and then you are set to use dryer. 

I got on the ApplieancePartsPros.com web site and watched tutorial videos to get me familiar with what I needed to do to fix the dryer. You know what? Any job is difficult until you learn how to do it and then it becomes easy. I have never been on a more professional website than what ApplianePartsPros.com has. It made making the repairs so easy to do by watching the videos and being shown how to do it and also the do's and don'ts to make the job go smooth. 

Replaced with a new timer bought here. Very simple, remove back panel and swap out.
