How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016541 / WPW10185982 Dryer Timer Control

Replace timer. 

Took almost as much time to complete this survey as it did to replace the timer. 

It started small - I didn’t get heat when using a timed dry setting but it had heat on the economical setting. I just did this for a while and then sometimes it had heat on the Econ setting and sometimes didn’t. I figured the mechanicals behind knob had to have faulty contacts, so I ordered a new timer motor and replaced it in 10 mins. For $100 it had better be... it was! Thank goodness, I found the issue first try. Saved me money in the long run. Thanks for having items on your website by model number! Saves me hassle and worry. I’m just a normal guy in Texas.

I was looking for a parts sight and found yours. I started to watch all the video tutorials on each part and the "check these connections first video". Well by doing this I was able to find the source of my problem. What I thought was the heating coil not working right, ended up being the timer that was bad!!! I am so very happy with your sight and the step by step videos that were the success to being able to do this on my own. 

The do-it-yourself video was wonderful. Installation went as followed. 

New part from Appliance Parts Pros. Went great! It isn’t a difficult fix but I chose APP because you had an accompanying video to show all the steps to take. I paid a few more dollars to APP as a ‘Thank You’ for the assistance. 

I found a replacement part on AppliancePros.com, ordered it, and watched the video on how to replace the timer. 

Bought part from Appliance Parts Pros online, was delivered by the next day (FAST!), and with the help of the video on APP's site, was able to replace the timer with no problems at all. Very satisfied.
