How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016537 / WPW10185972 Dryer Timer Control

I tested all of the other electrical parts to make sure they were working and narrowed it down to just the timer. It was very easy to remove and replace. A few screws to take off the back, two screws on the timer, remove the connections and install new timer, put the screws back it. 

We removed it and put on the new one 

Removed the back panel, discovered the wires and replaced with the new timer. 

Used a small pry bar to pop the lid open after removing screws on back and the lint filter housing, disconnected wiring harnesses on timer & switch, installled new timer & switch and closed up everything. Worked as goood as new, Great service on the parts and next day delivery even though 2 day UPS had been ordered. Thanks for the great service. 

The replacement of the timer went just perfect The part was exactly what I needed. 

Installed new timer. The part I received from appliance parts pro was an exact replacement, this made the job or repair easy. 

Unplug dryer remove self tapping screws in back of dryer dash board remove wires from old timer. Remove 2 self tapping screws that hold timer to frame. Install new timer connect wires, replace screws. Plug in put knob on and turn clock wise to hi heat press start.

I started by checking all the limit switches , door, start switch, thermal heat fuse on the back of the dryer checked the heating element's then pulled the timer to check it found that one of the plastic cams had broken not letting the motor or heat come on then ordered the part and installed works great. 

A handy friend of ours figured out this was the problem after testing several theories and parts. He replaced the timer and now it works correctly. Thanks so much for having the part we needed!
