How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016537 / WPW10185972 Timer

We called a appliance guy he came out for 15 dollars and told us it was the timer we ordered it thru you my husband installed and we saved 90 dollars yeah!! 

I did a search of the model number for my dryer and looked at the troubleshooting chart on the Appliance Parts Pro website. I watched all of the how to test and repair videos for each part and took them all out and tested them. The only part I could not test (the timer) turned out to be bad. I also sent an email to the website explaining the problem and all of the testing that I did. I got an email back within a few hours confirming which part I should replace. The part came in 24 hours after I ordered it. It took about five minutes to replace it. The dryer is as good as new now. This is the third major appliance that I have repaired in the past 18 months thanks to this website. 

Replaced the time 

I first replaced the cutoffs, thermostat and heating element, but the dryer still would not get hot. I then replaced the timer and now it works like brand new. Total time including the cut offs, thermostat, heating element and timer was about 10-15 min with simple hand tools. 

The parts pro website offers a installation video for the parts that you purchase. I just followed the steps illustrated and made the change out of part in less than 10 minutes. I would not have had a clue how to proceed without this helpful tool. 

After testing several other components (fuse, heating element, etc) and finding all good, decided it was most likely timer. Ordered, got in two days, and installed. Once behind dryer, only took 5 minutes to change. Now the dryer works great in all cycles - like new. 

Purchased a new timer from Appliance Parts and fixed it in about 15 minutes and it works as it should. 

Took the old part out and typed in the part number in Appliance Parts Pros.com found it ...ordered it got it in great time and took me all of 5 min. to fix 

After pulling the ENTIRE dryer apart, a quick check of the timer proved that it was getting no power. We ordered this part, got it the next day, and replaced it in less than 5 minutes! A much simpler and cheaper solution than a new dryer altogether! The how-to video was extremely helpful in making sure we were doing things correctly.
