Lots of trial and error. First I replaced the lid switch, but this didn't fix it. I tried the timer because this looked like a strong possibility based on what others said. No dice.
I knew that it wasn't the coupler, so I was pretty much let with the clutch. Once I figured this out, I realized that this best addressed the problem. The washer would spin with small load, but with bigger loads (jeans, towels, etc.) the clutch wasn't strong enough to do its jump.
I just did a large load with the new clutch and it spun masterfully!
