How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013162 / WP8557301 Washer Timer - 60 Hz

Took a guess that was the problem. Ordered a new one from you all and used the online video to replace it. Was easier than expected and glad to have the washer online again. Thanks so much.

All functions work, but only manually. Replaced timer ( had to jury- rig a bracket after small plastic bracket broke off) All functions go

Replaced timer. Easy with instructional video on web site. Only minor differences from video and my washer. Needed a slightly different screw driver (square head). The part was expensive but was the correct thing to get washer back into service. Easy repair. 

Replaced the timer unit, not able to procure or switch out just the shaft. Super easy to fix, video on the AP3738284 timer gave clear and exact instructions on how to disassemble, swap the part, and reassemble. 

Looked up the troubleshooting and figured out what was wrong. Knew it was the timer switch and ordered one. It arrived in within 2 days and installed it that afternoon with the help of the video. The whole process was very accurate and I am very happy with the outcome. 

We had a great repair guy take a look at our washer. He gave us a diagnostic and recommended appliancepartspros.com for DYI help. We ordered the part ($45 cheaper than the appliance shop) and followed the video. The project just took 10 minutes or less. The video made it so easy - anyone could have done it! Thank you! 

Replaced the timer. The lid switch was working so had to be the timer.
