How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6027508 / W10894766 Timer

I ordered the part from your company. It showed up the next day. It was the correct part. I installed it, put the dryer back together, and started it. The dryer works fine now. A special thanks to Mike in tech support for getting the part ordered, but also going above and beyond in talking to me about the repair and my specific dryer. He is very knowledgeable, an asset to the company, and easy to talk to. He should get a raise!!

Using a local source, I replaced both the high and low thermostats. That was not the solution. The timer was not functioning on the sensor settings at all. I checked with the local parts store and they wanted $133 for the timer, not including tax. I ordered from Appliance Parts Pros. and received the part in less that 24 hrs. I got the part, with shipping and tax for $100. Dryer runs very well now, thank you. I am a 74 year old female and if I can do it, so can you! Make sure you take pictures of the wiring and contacts before disassembly. 

I went on YouTube and found a video on how to determine which part needed to be replaced. I used an inexpensive multimeter to locate which part was broken. It was the timer. AppliancePartsPros had the part at the best price, anywhere. I ordered the part and followed their YouTube video on how to install it. It was incredibly easy!! 

I replaced the timer switch which was very simple 

New timer 

First went thru the thermostats and fuses, didn't help. Took apart the timer found arcing on the terminals, tried cleaning them up, no luck! Bit the bullet and ordered a new timer. Fixed the problem!! 

Checked high temp fuses. All good. Used wiring diagram to verify timer contacts that should be closed to dry were not closing. Ordered new timer from Appliance Parts Pros. because they had best price. Chose to use regular shipping instead of paying extra foe 2 day delivery. Part arrived in 3 days. Fixed problem. Took about 10 min. to replace timer. 

I checked for continuity on thermal switch, thermostat, heating element etc. everything checked out fine. Then I saw one you tube video that said to check the timer. I put the timer on a heat cycle and there was no continuity when I metered it. There was the problem. I checked on Amazon (to get part in two days shipping) and they wanted $110 for the part. AppliancePartsPros.com wanted $60 for the part and I paid $10 for express shipping and got the part in 2 days and saved money.
