How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016367 / WPW10177827 Timer

New timer installed in less than 15 minutes. 

The repair itself was easy, especially with the assistance of the video. The only problem, and it took a lot of time and effort was our model washer didn't have end caps to remove and easily tilt the control panel. We had to search online for a number of videos until we found out this model had clips under the control panel that would release the top. You would slip a putty knife under and push to release them. You couldn't tell where they were located and they were so stiff we ended up having to remove the rear panel to access and remove the clips that way. Still worth the effort and saved a bunch on the repair.

Put in a new timer, it was total plug-n-play, appliance repair is like children's play. 

Replaced the timer. The AppliancePartsPros video was very helpful. I have purchased from them before and appreciate their return policy. Once before for this same washer I had ordered a new timer and then found the problem was a water sensor. So I was able to return the timer with no problem. I appreciated that service. Also, I ordered the timer at 10:30 AM on a Thursday and told my wife it would probably come on Monday. We were out doing errands and when we came home at 9:30 AM on Friday, it was already there----less than 24 hours for standard delivery. WOW! 

I found the model number on my washing machine and check Youtube for some information. A how to video came up on how to remove and install a new timer for my washer. Appliancepartspros.com made the video (thanks guys, VERY helpful) and had a link to their site to order what I needed. After looking around I found they had a great price for the part I needed, plus they made the video to walk me through it all. Shipping was fast, two days and I had the machine up and running the next evening. Thanks for all your help on this project. Fred

Replaced the timer. I followed the video demo and other than having to pull the washer away from a crowded space and figuring out how to access the timer, the repair was simple. 

I watch the video on AppliancParts pros.com. and it made it easy to install a new timer switch in a matter of 4 1/2 min. thanks for the help
