How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023568 / WPW10642928 Dryer Timer

Replaced the timer with new one from AppliancePartsPros.com. 

Replaced the entire timer. Followed the video on AppliancePartsPros.com. Note: make sure you have needle-nose pliers for the metal clips holding the timer in place. 

New timer. Note that the model number suggests the dryer is part of a laundry center. I don’t know if that means a one unit combo washer/dryer or not. However, this is a stand alone Maytag dryer. 

Replaced the dryer timer. Repair man was going to charge $300. Instead I paid $70 + $25 for overnight shipping and fixed it myself. 

Chatted with technician who diagnosed the problem and recommended what I needed then sent a link in what to order. 

Watched YouTube videos and ordered the OEM replacement timer part. After disassembling the door, removed old board and installed new board. All totaled, it took about one and a half hours. Excellent service supplying the correct part, quickly! Thank you. 

Ordered new timer, installed it myself.

Replaced the timer, easy to do. The dryer is working just fine now. 

Discussed this with the "chat" person. She looked up the part number, sent me the link and I ordered it. Got here fast. Not a tough install at all. Had to fight a bit to get the old timer from its bracket, but all in all, it was easy. The help I received from the "chat" rep was complete and amazing. I am so thankful for that help.
