How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023568 / WPW10642928 Dryer Timer

I ordered new timer. When it arrived I installed it into the dryer. Once I found the way to open the two clips holding the timer the task was easy. It only took a few minutes. 

After looking online for a solution, I watched a video illustrating how to change the timer. I then found the part number on the timer and ordered a replacement. Total time expended to remove the old timer and install the new one was 45 minutes, thus saving an expensive house call from an appliance repairman. 

Replaced timer, after unplugging main power from wall remove backplate to expose timer unplug all wire's the hardest part is getting the old-timer off there are two metal clips they stay on the dryer be careful not to break them off they fit into the oval holes and hold timer in place, the part was easy to order using the will this part fit my part was exactly like the original and shipped in two days, great job appliance parts pros

The timer started working, Checked the timer with the voltmeter. Ahmed out fine but was still bad. Replaced with a new timer on a whim and it worked plus this site had the cheapest o.e.m parts

The specific part, a manufacturer's original replacement timer was recommended to fix the issue where the electric dryer would not turn off in timer and in sensor models.
