How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023568 / WPW10642928 Dryer Timer

I replaced the timer, APP advised me of the lower hold down being difficult on the timer to get released and yes it was a pain until I found the right curved needle nose pliers. Don't force it to release or it will be a lot worse. Thank You for all your tips APP. 

Took apart dryer to get to timer. Tested the timer clock motor and found that it did not work. Used the part number on the timer to order a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. I paid the extra shipping and the part came the next day! It was the exact part. I replaced it and we are back in business. 

Ordered a new timer and replaced it and this fixed the problem. 

Swapped timer out and now works like a charm
