Thomas P Charlotte , NC August 27, 2016 Broken door spring allowed door to drop fast when opened Replaced broken one of two door springs - also replaced small nylon link. If I had realized there were two springs, would have ordered and replaced the second spring as a precaution, but replacing only the broken one solved the problem. Ran into one unexpected problem not related to the actual fix. When originally installed, dishwasher had hard copper line from water feed under sink to dishwasher. There was no slack in that line and it prevented me from pulling the dishwasher out to easily get to the spring. Trying to move the dishwasher caused the two end connections to leak slowly. I replaced the copper line with a stainless braided line with extra slack and used Teflon tape on the connections which solved the issue. The Appliance Parts Pros part of this repair went great and had the original feed been properly provided with some slack, the process would have been exactly as the video showed. The rest of my answers related to the typical repair. Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
