Dryer won't heat or gas won't ignite? This gas valve controls gas flow to the burner assembly. Moderate DIY repair requiring drum removal.
Remove the top cover, front door panel, drum, and back cover to access the valve assembly hold down bolts. Unhook the gas line, remove the electrical connections to the coils, then R&R the valve assembly. Don’t forget to hook the connectors back to the coils before putting everything back together... This is a metal spring that attaches to the dryer door hinge and provides tension to hold the door in the closed position. It ensures the door stays securely shut during operation.
