This plastic body fuel shutoff valve is a genuine OEM replacement part for portable Generac generators. It is an inline fuel valve that is responsible for controlling the flow of gas from the tank to the engine. It is also responsible for stopping fuel from reaching the engine if the generator is not in use. If the fuel shutoff valve is damaged due to normal wear and tear or leaking when not in use, it should be removed and replaced.Repairs involving fuel should be made in an area with adequate ventilation. All fuel should be drained from the fuel tank and fuel lines before removing the valve. Pliers, a screwdriver, gloves, and a basin or tub to drain the fuel are necessary for making the repair. Locate the clamps holding the fuel line on each side and use pliers to release them. Remove the old valve and insert new valve. Replace the fuel lines and reclamp. Refill the fuel and check for leaks. This fuel shut off valve is made of heavy-duty molded plastic and sold as an individual unit. It is made specifically for portable generators manufactured by Generac.
This fuel filter keeps dirt and foreign objects out of the fuel system of Generac generators. Fuel, particularly when stored in portable fuel tanks, is prone to getting dirt and debris in it. Before using it in a generator or other piece of equipment, the debris needs to be removed. If the dirt and debris are not removed from the fuel, it can enter the fuel system and cause damage. The fuel filter prevents this from happening.Fuel filters need to be examined and replaced as part of routine maintenance. A visual inspection will show if the filter is dirty or not. If dirty, the filter is easily removed with a pair of pliers. The new filter can be put into place using your hands. The process normally takes less than twenty minutes. All dirt and contaminating particles are not visible to the naked eye. The fuel filter should be replaced according to a scheduled maintenance plan, regardless of visible dirt and debris. This OEM fuel filter comes directly from the manufacturer and is used in Generac portable generators. The overall part is made of plastic and contains a mesh filter. It is sold individually.
