Frigidaire 5308027429 Dryer High Temperature Adhesive OEM Part

I'm new to how a dryer works, so I just started taking it apart to see what exactly was causing it. The video examples on the APP website were all amazing. It gave me a good idea of what I was getting into and showed me the common repair issues. The dryer being 12 years old, I was on the fence about repairing or replacing. However, once I got a list of parts I might need and getting the confidence by watching the videos, I said "what have I got to lose." The cause of the scraping and loud noise in the front was how the front glide rides solely on the upper felt seal. I would have thought that there would be more of a bearing type surface, but apparently, that was all that held up the front end of the dryer drum. Since I had it open and planned on keeping the dryer, I wanted to replace some of the other common issue items too. The upper felt seal didn't come with high temp adhesive, so I purchased that along with 2 front glides. This would have taken care of the issue at hand. The lower felt seal is not really a load-bearing surface (just seals in the heat) and that came with High Temp Adhesive. The rear drum bearing was probably still good but replaced it anyway. The kit was pretty inexpensive. And I figured to replace the belt just in case. Having all the parts delivered in a matter of 2 days was awesome! Thank you for the quick shipping! Especially since I had the dryer disassembled in the middle of my living room (Condo with an in-unit dryer). It really just took a matter of 2-3 hours to do the whole job and referred to the videos in case I had a question. The bulk of the time was cleaning out the inside of the dryer and searching for a screw that disappeared somewhere (found it eventually! Yay!). After getting it back together and waiting for the adhesive to do it's thing, I took it for a spin and was wonderfully surprised at how quiet it was!!!! Thank you Appliance Parts Pros for making this DIY's day and all in all instead of spending 900+ on a new dryer (not including installation) I spend 200 on parts and am so proud of my work. You guys rock!

My 2007 Frigidaire Dryer started making scraping noises when running so I googled possible reasons and ended up here. Being a single mom with two boys, I don't have extra money laying around to buy a new dryer so, with some research and watching the videos, I decided to try the repair myself. I replaced the Rear Drum Bearing Kit, the glides, the belt and the blower seal inside the door. It certainly wasn't as easy to fix as the video showed. I had difficulty getting the drum back into place because it wouldn't stay level. There was a drum support piece in the video that wasn't available to be bought so I asked on this site and found out the front panel would keep the drum in place. All in all, with me working full time, it took about a week to fix and clean everything and get the dryer back together. I ran it for the first time today and it's quieter and dries faster than it ever has before. What used to take 90 minutes on high heat to dry a load now takes 60 minutes on medium high. Would I try to repair it again? Probably not as it was very difficult for me. The hardest part was getting the front panel back on. It took both my two sons and myself to manhandle it into place and get it to hang right so we could get the screws to line up. Also, threading the rear drum with new screws was difficult because you need quite a bit of hand strength. I almost gave up many times but in the end persevered and now have a running dryer again. Thank you for the detailed videos on your site. Without them, I would never have attempted this repair and would be out about $1000 now.

Kenmore Dryer Model 41791042000. Replaced the Front Felt Guide Assembly (5303937139) Lower Front Felt Seal (5303283286) Rear Drum Bearing Kit (5303281153) and Dryer Drum Belt. (134503600) Having performed this same maintenance 5 years ago I was familiar with the process which is fairly straightforward. However, the video for the Front Felt Guide replacement seems to no longer be on the website. Also, the video for the Lower Front Felt Seal is wrong, showing the replacement of some felt seal at the rear of the drum of another dryer model. But don't worry, the video showing replacement of the rear drum bearing kit shows how to disassemble the dryer, and the written directions included with the Front Felt Guide Assembly hold true for the Lower Front Felt Seal as well. Once you have removed the front panel (see Drum Bearing Kit video) pull off the top and bottom felt seals from the panel. Use acetone to clean off all the old adhesive and felt remnants. You need a clean, smooth surface. Apply the provided High Temperature Adhesive to the back of the Front Felt Guide assembly. The overhanging plastic guides face the front of the dryer, not the drum. Center the felt guide assembly, firmly pressing it in place. I used binder clips to secure the felt while the adhesive set. Replacing the lower felt is the same process. If you look closely at the Lower Front Felt seal you will notice that one edge is slightly beveled. This beveled edge should be the outside edge facing the drum. You do not need to purchase additional High-Temperature Adhesive as the tube provided with the Front Felt Guide Assembly is more than adequate to secure both upper and lower felts. Replacing the Rear Drum Bearing Kit and Dryer Drum Belt is exactly like the video. Be patient, take your time and you'll have a quiet dryer that doesn't mark your clothes!

Replaced the rear drum bearing assembly and the front top felt that the drum rides on and since I has it apart installed a new belt. Simple to do and takes very little time!

From reading "troubleshooting" sites on the internet, originally thought I'd be replacing the front & rear drum rollers, so I ordered the rollers, and a new belt before I opened up the dryer, taking it out of use. When I opened it up the front rollers were "shot", and the front bulkhead was "totaled". Waited for parts to arrive (within 2 days), and successfully replaced front & rear rollers, bulkhead, drum seal. The on-line videos really helped me ensure I was keeping in the right order. My wife says it runs quieter now than when it was new !!
