Wayne A Tewksbury , MA August 01, 2016 Appliance: Frigidaire Washer GLTF2940FS2 Frigidaire gltf2940fs2 front load washer e90 error code After first doing a Google/YouTube search, There was only one "hit" on my search results. Next I went to an appliance message board forum but after almost a week and more than a dozen views, no response was received. This is unusual. I've been on this board before with positive results. They also changed the "rules" for DIYers which could explain why I didn't have a lot of response from the experts. I attempted to get the unit into diagnostics mode. I was unable to clear the E90 "general communication" error code and so I'm also unable to access diagnostic mode. I decided to order the main control board from AppliancePartsPros.com a site I've used before. Their quality parts, competitive prices & fast shipping will keep me coming back. After installing the main control board, I wanted to try getting into diagnostics mode to see if anything else might be "faulty". Again I was unable to enter diagnostics mode. But the E90 error code was certainly gone now. Needless to say I was anxious to run a load of clothes through the washer. Voila! It works. It was a very easy fix. Even after I dropped a couple of screws & buttons & springs which I found a put back into place. Of course after I put in the new control board, I received a reply from the appliance message board forum. Most of the proposed solution was what I already Googled. There was a tip about re-seating all the electrical connectors and spraying with a QD Electronic Contact cleaner. I will try this in the future if it happens again. I did thank the person for their reply & tips. Read More... 18 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Kenneth B Friendswood , TX June 04, 2016 Appliance: Frigidaire Washer LTF2940ES3 Washer would stop after about 30 second on fill cycle diagnostic code of e32 The E32 diagnostic code that the Frigidaire washer was throwing after a quick water fill attempt was not in the supplied Data Sheet that came with the washer and Frigidaire would not provide and updated Data Sheet because, "it's a liabiliity issue" was their statement, but they did tell me that the problem was in the Fill Pressure Sensor/Wire Harness or the Main Control Board (the display board). I ordered the Pressure Sensor and Main Control Board from AppliancePartsPros after checking continuity of the associated Pressure Sensor to Main Control Board wire harness with no problems found in the wire harness. The Pressure Sensor and Main Contorl Board arrived within 5 days of my ordering on a Memorial Day weekend Saturday, left the warehouse on the following Tuesday and arrived at my house on Wednesday. The installation was simple for the Pressure Sensor. Make sure to label the 9 or so connectors and associated wire bundles to make re-installation easier. The process of disconnecting the Main Control Board from the Front Panel was a little tricky - make sure the front of the display is face down on your work surface or lap as there are a dozen or so loose springs behind the control buttons and they will get away if you have the display panel faced up. Once the control board was reattached to the front panel, wire harness connector re-attached and reinstalled, connect the screws and test the machine. I ran through several empty cycles with both hot and cold water to make sure the new board was working properly and that no new diagnostic codes showed up. Success. One note - this is the second repair in 3 years on this 10 year old machine, the first was 3 years ago for the motor control board, also called the speed control board, located under the agitator drum. Both that previous computer board failure and this one were after severe thunderstorms. Might be a good idea to unplug the washer when inclement weather is forecast for your area. Diane D Seattle , WA March 30, 2014 Appliance: Frigidaire Washer GLTF2940ES1 Control panel stopped working I took the leap and ordered the control panel from AppliancePartsPros.com. The part had a different serial number from the one that I removed from my washing machine, but the website has a function that will cross reference it to see whether it will fit your machine. The replacement part arrived promptly. It looked a bit different than the original part, but it fit and had all the correct connections. I was able to replace the control panel using just ordinary Phillips head screwdrivers. Although it needs to be done with care because of the many buttons, springs, lights, plug ins, etc... I'm a woman in my 60's and can't afford the inflated cost of home appliance repair in the Seattle area, so it made me happy to be able to fix the problem myself. Debbie C Gulfport , MS September 13, 2014 Appliance: Model FRIGIDAIRE FRONT LOAD HIGH EFFICIENCY GLTF2940ES3 E 43 My washer kept stopping mid- cycle and beeping all day long, it kept flashing E-43, I looked up the code in the manual and it said "control board error". I ran all the diagnostics to reset it, but the washer continued stopping and beeping. I ordered the " control board" from this website. My washer is 6/7 years, the model was discontinued, but this website has a great feature, you can use the model # of your appliance to see if the part is compatible. Ordered the part it arrived in 3 days. I was able to change out the control board on my own in about 20 mins with 2 screwdrivers a phillips and a flat( to pop off the front facing and some parts of control board). It is self explanatory, I did use my phone to take pictures of the wiring so I knew where to plug it in. I'm not an electrician, but my washer is working like new. It has been one week. My washer is a front load frigidaire High efficiency. Read More... 8 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Charles D Schenectady , NY November 28, 2015 Appliance: Frigidaire Washer GLTF2940ES1 Wouldnt go into spin cycle First I changed the control board which I thought would fix the problem, since I ckd what other people did to solve same problem, I was wrong, needed a new pump so I changed that at the same time, pump works great, note when you change main board be careful of all the little springs that are in there, spent most of time looking for the springs that came out, both jobs took about 1 hr. upon further checking with customers spin problems came to the door latch, ordered that took about 15min to change, solved the problem, I don't think my washer ever spun so fast, I last thing had to change bracket that holds door boot in place , rusted Read More... 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Adjustable Wrench, Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
