This mechanical temperature control thermostat regulates refrigerator temperature to keep food cold and cycling the compressor as needed. Replaces a faulty control to restore proper cooling performance and temperature stability. What it does:
- Senses cabinet temperature and opens/closes the compressor circuit to maintain set temperature.
- Stops the compressor when the refrigerator reaches the selected temperature and restarts it as needed.
- Commonly replaced when the fridge runs continuously, won't reach set temperature, or has erratic cooling cycles.
- May produce a clicking sound when switching or fail to make electrical contact, causing cooling loss.
What's included: One temperature control thermostat. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair.
- Access may require removing interior panels or control housing; keep track of fasteners and wire locations.
- Verify wiring and operation with a multimeter; replace only with the correct OEM part.
